MLA Kalpana Devi to Represent India at International Green Investment Summit in Rio de Janeiro

Kota (Rajasthan), October 31, 2025:
Ladpura MLA Kalpana Devi has been invited to represent India at the upcoming “Rio Parliamentary Green Investment Summit” to be held from November 2–4, 2025, at the Hilton Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

This prestigious international conference is jointly organized by the Climate Parliament (a global network of legislators) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with collaboration from key global institutions such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Climate Compatible Growth (CCG), and the Climate Emergency Collaboration Group (CECG).

The summit aims to strengthen global cooperation on Green Energy Investment, accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and create favorable policy frameworks for renewable energy initiatives worldwide.

According to the official list of participants, lawmakers from 35 countries will attend the event, including legislators, policymakers, investors, development agencies, and industry experts. Among the Indian delegation of four legislators, Kalpana Devi’s inclusion marks a significant representation from Rajasthan.

The three-day summit will feature inaugural sessions, investment-focused panel discussions, regional policy dialogues, and technical workshops on “Green Energy Corridors.” Prominent speakers will include senior representatives from UNIDO, World Bank (MIGA), Citi, UNEP, and Bankers for Net Zero.

Key Discussion Themes:

  • Strategies to attract global investment in green energy
  • Expansion of community-level renewable projects
  • Role of domestic and international financial institutions
  • Climate adaptation through sustainable energy solutions

A special session titled “Community Green Energy Zones” will highlight how decentralized renewable energy projects—such as rooftop solar, energy-efficient appliances, clean cooking systems, and agro-based micro-industries—can transform rural economies. Legislators from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are expected to share field experiences from their respective regions.

New Avenues for Rajasthan

Kalpana Devi’s participation is seen as a milestone in advancing Rajasthan’s leadership in the green energy sector. Her advocacy for community-driven renewable initiatives, women-led clean energy enterprises, and energy-efficient agricultural models could attract international partnerships and investment to the state.

Rajasthan already stands among India’s top solar energy-producing states, and its experience in renewable energy deployment is likely to serve as a model for global policymakers.

The Rio Parliamentary Green Investment Summit is expected to strengthen international collaboration on climate finance and sustainable energy policy, positioning India—and particularly Rajasthan—as a key contributor to the global green growth movement.
