As Madhya Pradesh enters the 70th year of its establishment, the state stands at the threshold of a transformative era—one marked by growth, innovation, and opportunity. Since its formation on November 1, 1956, Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a steady evolution, and in the past two decades, the state’s journey toward becoming one of India’s leading regions has accelerated remarkably.
It is a proud coincidence that this year’s Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day coincides with Dev Uthani Ekadashi, a sacred occasion symbolizing renewal and auspicious beginnings. Our festivals and traditions form the core of our cultural identity, inspiring us to build a prosperous future rooted in our glorious past. The cultural richness of Madhya Pradesh—its forests, rivers, art, crafts, and traditions—continues to define its soul. Blessed with the sacred rivers Narmada, Chambal, Parvati, and Shipra, and the divine presence of Baba Mahakal, this land has also been home to Lord Parashurama, a place of learning for Lord Krishna, and the sacred ground of Adi Shankaracharya’s penance. From the legendary King Vikramaditya, who liberated India from the Shakas and introduced the world’s first scientific calendar—the Vikram Samvat—to the spiritual legacy of Chitrakoot, the state’s historical and cultural grandeur continues to inspire every citizen.
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is marching toward the goal of becoming a Developed Nation. With the Prime Minister’s guidance, Madhya Pradesh is contributing dynamically to this vision, embracing rapid industrial growth, innovation, and job creation. This year’s Foundation Day theme—Industry and Employment—reflects the state’s commitment to inclusive growth, cultural prosperity, and public participation.
Inspired by the Prime Minister’s call for Viksit Bharat, Madhya Pradesh is converting its investment opportunities into tangible outcomes. Every region of the state possesses unique strengths—whether in minerals, agriculture, technology, or human talent—and we are building on this diversity. The Regional Investors Summit series, a new initiative, has showcased the entrepreneurial potential of every district. Beginning from Ujjain in March 2024, the Investment Drive reached Jabalpur, Gwalior, Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Narmadapuram, and further expanded to Mumbai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, the UK, Germany, Japan, and Dubai. Through national and international roadshows, investment in Madhya Pradesh has grown multifold, supported by a simplified and secure business environment.
The establishment of Innovation Hubs, a Startup Policy, funding assistance, and Incubation Networks has empowered young entrepreneurs, transforming Madhya Pradesh into a significant contributor to India’s startup revolution. The Global Investors Summit attracted both domestic and international investors, reaffirming confidence in the state’s potential. The Mineral Conclave alone brought investment proposals exceeding ₹56,000 crore, highlighting the success of the state’s progressive policies.
Madhya Pradesh is now experiencing a major economic transformation driven by Investment, Innovation, and Employment. Over the past two years, the state has achieved historic progress in industry, agriculture, energy, environment, and social empowerment. Guided by Prime Minister Modi’s vision of GYAN—Garib (Poor), Yuva (Youth), Annadata (Farmer), and Nari (Woman)—the government is implementing welfare programs for self-employment, social security, housing, education, and healthcare.
The Skill Development Mission and Startup Policy 2025 are turning youth from job seekers into job creators. Industrial training, job fairs, apprenticeship programs, and digital skill certifications are connecting thousands to employment. Madhya Pradesh is also the first state in India to release an annual recruitment calendar, ensuring transparency and timely appointments in government sectors.
Agriculture, too, is entering a new era of modernization. Drone-based crop monitoring, smart irrigation systems, and value-added agricultural products are revolutionizing farming practices. Projects like Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link will provide extensive irrigation and water resources, expanding the state’s irrigated area beyond 100 lakh hectares within three years. Madhya Pradesh has already achieved remarkable growth in wheat, soybean, gram, and spice production, strengthening its status as India’s food and seed capital.
Women empowerment remains central to this growth narrative. The Ladli Bahna Yojana has provided economic security to millions of women, while the Nari Shakti Mission is enabling women entrepreneurs in small industries, dairy, handicrafts, and services. Self-help groups are being financially strengthened and given direct access to markets—making Nari Shakti not only a mission but a foundation for a New India.
In addition, the Chief Minister Gau-Sanvardhan Mission has promoted dairy development and cattle conservation, boosting milk production and rural income. With the blessings of our people and the guidance of our Prime Minister, Madhya Pradesh continues its golden journey of inclusive growth, embodying the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.”
Bringing a smile to every poor family, ensuring the prosperity of every farmer, dignity for every woman, and a bright future for every youth—this is both our resolve and our goal. Together, let us build a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh and contribute to the making of a Developed India.
