Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Rocked by Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Former Selector
Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formed a committee to investigate serious allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct made by fast bowler Jahanara Alam against former selector Manjurul Islam and other officials during the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup. The committee has been asked to submit its findings within 15 days.
Allegations Against Former Selector
Jahanara Alam, currently based in Australia, revealed in an interview that Manjurul Islam and other officials repeatedly engaged in inappropriate behavior towards her. She specifically accused Manjurul of asking obscene questions during conversations, including inquiries about her menstrual cycle. Jahanara quoted Manjurul saying, “When your period ends, inform me, I want to see for myself.”
